Bees Anatomy
Bees have four wings. The muscles attach directly to the wing, extend them, and are capable of altering the wing angle. The wings are moved up and down by muscles that are not attached to them at all.
The bee has six legs. Six main joints on each of the first pair of legs carries a device for cleaning the antenna each of the hind pair carries a device for carrying pollen know as the pollen basket or the corbicula. All legs have brushes on the inner surface to brush the body hair free of pollen. Bees breath through openings in there body called spiracles .
The abdomen contain the bees heart, honey stomach, true stomach and intestines. In a female honey bee, there are the ovaries and the sting; the male abdomen contains the reproductive organs, the testes but he has no stinger.

The head has an important sensory organ. First comes the antennae commonly know as the feelers. They do not have important senses of touch but they are equivalent of a bee's nose. There are organs of taste on the antennae as well as on the tongue and foreleg. The head also carries the mandibles or mouth part and the eyes inside the head are the salivary glands which provide moisture and broad food glands which provide the substance which is feed to the larvae. Bees have three simple eyes on top of their head. They also have two compounds eyes, one on each side of the head. The compound eye can see ultraviolet as a color and are also aware of polarized light.
